The Portland Komen Race for the Cure seemed to sneak up on us this year. Busy summer, I guess. We are in the final stages and gearing up for the races this Sunday, September 20th.

Our team is 27 members strong this year, and we will be doing the walk, the timed runs and the coed untimed run.

We very much appreciate your support, emails and good vibes running this race. We also appreciate your donations if you are able to support our team that way. Every little bit helps . Thank you!

Race Day 2008

Race Day 2008

pink-ribbon-raindropsThey’re back. I am adding the Pink Ribbon Raindrops necklaces like the Femme Fus team wore in the 2008 Race for the Cure.

Inspiration: The pink ribbon is the well-known symbol for breast cancer awareness. Portland Oregon is a pretty rainy place, so I decided to enclose the ribbon in a big glassy raindrop. (I love rain!) :)

The necklaces are ONE pink ribbon drop on a pink woven necklace, yours for a donation of $30 or more for the Femme Fus Race for the Cure effort!

Visit the Femme Fus Beads page to view a larger photo of the Pink Ribbon Drops and see  all of the 2009 Femme Fus donation beads. Limited quantities – get yours today!

Click here for additional photos of the Pink Ribbon Raindrop necklaces from last year.

Here are the miscellaneous “thank you” beads found on our Facebook photo gallery. Check out the photo gallery for larger versions of each item.

The beads created for Femme Fus were a way for me (JCrosby) to say “thank you” to our wonderful supporters of the Femme Fus Race for a cure team. These beads are not for sale — I donate them as a thank you for your donation to the Femme Fus and Komen cause.

Want beads? Please click here to make your donation of $30 or more to support team Femme Fus in this year’s Race for the Cure. US Shipping is included in the donation.

Thank you!

Femme Fus 2008 Team

We are 27 members strong this year – go Femme Fus! Click here to see photos from our 2008 Race for the Cure efforts.

We appreciate your good thoughts as we train and participate in this year’s Race for the Cure to put an end to breast cancer and help so many women who need support, mammograms and transportation services.

We welcome your donations on our behalf, too. You can donate to the Femme Fus team as a whole here. If you want to root for a specific member of our team, we welcome that too. All funds go to our team total.

To make it easier to find each team member, I have added everyone’s name to our Femme Fus Donate page. Find your peep, click on their name, and your donation will show up on their personal page. It’s all good. THANK YOU in advance.

Who is “Peach”?
Cindy, a.k.a. "Peach" is both our inspiration and our cause for celebration! Click here to Meet the Peach.
What is Femme Fus?
Femme is French for woman and fus is short for fuscular, a made-up word meaning fat and muscular, so there you have it: Team Femme Fus!
