Post-race update

I apologize for the delay in posting this update. I left for a conference in NYC right after the race and just got back. Still adjusting and trying to catch up.

The Femme Fus team had an awesome race day turnout. It was a beautiful day and spirits were high. The Portland race is the 3rd largest in the world and the largest on the entire west coast. I believe they had about 42,000+ race participants.

I took a ton of photos, only to discover (to my utter horror) that the disk was corrupted. Tears. A desperate call to husband, who is a genius. I had to do some DOS-y stuff, but I recovered 99% of the 170+ photos from the day. Whewwwwww.

So, even though it is a few days after the race, I am very happy to say “photos coming soon”!

Race Day is THIS SUNDAY!

The Portland Komen Race for the Cure seemed to sneak up on us this year. Busy summer, I guess. We are in the final stages and gearing up for the races this Sunday, September 20th.

Our team is 27 members strong this year, and we will be doing the walk, the timed runs and the coed untimed run.

We very much appreciate your support, emails and good vibes running this race. We also appreciate your donations if you are able to support our team that way. Every little bit helps . Thank you!

Pink Ribbon Raindrops

They’re back. I am adding the Pink Ribbon Raindrops necklaces like the Femme Fus team wore in the 2008 Race for the Cure.

Inspiration: The pink ribbon is the well-known symbol for breast cancer awareness. Portland Oregon is a pretty rainy place, so I decided to enclose the ribbon in a big glassy raindrop. (I love rain!)

The necklaces are ONE pink ribbon drop on a pink woven necklace, yours for a donation of $30 or more for the Femme Fus Race for the Cure effort!
